Hillsboro Inlet Bascule Bridge Rehabilitation

After receiving this contract from FDOT District 4, PCL was asked to speed up the schedule to reduce impacts on the neighboring community and the travelling public. Local opposition to the project almost caused FDOT to cancel the contract. PCL put together a proposal for schedule reduction that addressed the stakeholders' concerns. The bridge was repaired expeditiously and FDOT eventually rewarded PCL with an early completion bonus.

Royal Park Temporary Bascule Design-Build Bridge

The PCL team had just over one month to prepare a technical proposal, conceptual design and pricing for fast-track design and construction of a temporary bascule bridge. PCL received a early completion bonus for on time completion of a very aggressive 12-month construction schedule on this project. The project won the 2001 National Design Build Award from the Design Build Institute of America.

Suncoast Parkway Completion

The St. Paul Surety Company asked PCL to complete this project after another contractor was removed from the contract. PCL mobilized on to the project within one week and had 40 men working within three weeks. PCL immediately redesigned the MOT phasing which expedited the opening of the Veteran's Expressway and the completion of the project. The project won the "2001 Major Interstate Award" from the Florida Department of Transportation.
