THEMED BUILDING represents the convergence of typical construction methods with scenic construction technology.

Every themed construction project, whether it’s a themed attraction, hotel or café, possesses unique logistical and technical challenges. We bring the optimum solution to these projects: a combination of technical know-how, innovation and outstanding project coordination! Communication is the key. We work closely with various groups, including designers, specialty trades, municipalities and building departments, to schedule and perform the work—often on a fast track basis. Our focus is on quality construction, while at the same time delivering a structure that meets our clients’ business needs, whether it’s for sales, entertainment or interactive education.

Destination: Africa at the Calgary Zoo

The Kitamba Village, a small African village of thatched huts; the TATAPA Reserve, exhibiting the lush vegetation of a tropical rainforest and housing western lowland gorillas; the Wahigi Plain, featuring indoor underwater viewing of the river hippopotamus (one of the first of its kind); and the Kitamba Kafe, an African-themed, 300-seat restaurant and conference center facility will all be constructed over the next two years.

Rainforest Cafe - Scarborough Town Centre

Completed in 20 weeks, this project involved the supply and installation of many unusual elements such as two 750 U.S. gallon S-shaped aquariums and one 5,900 U.S. gallon arched aquarium completed with 150 tropical fish, installation of a fog and rain system throughout the dining area, a waterfall and fountain feature, 1'-thick greenery ceiling above the dining and retail areas, and simulated thunder and lightning effects with an araoma system blending a rainforest scent into the HVAC supply air.
