Previously operating out of seven different locations in Regina, the College had grown to a point where it needed a home that allowed everyone (First Nations and non-First Nations) to share the cultural importance and significance of Aboriginal people in Saskatchewan and Canada. Designed by Douglas Cardinal, world-renowned Aboriginal Architect, in consultation with First Nations Elders, staff, faculty and community, the new College is a 139,160 ft², four-storey building. Designed in a semicircle that faces south, like the Sundance Lodge, the facility opens its arms to embrace the sun's warmth and light. The circle is a powerful symbol in Indian Society , signifying that all beings are connected.
