Project Description
Kaiwakiloumoku Hawaiian Cultural Center is the construction of a 51,720 SF two level facility on a 1.63 acre site to be used for eduction and ceremonies to perpetuate and presevere the Hawaiian Culture. The lower level of the facility will consist of classrooms, a commercial preparation kitchen, mechanical and electrical rooms, and a covered parking area. The upper level will consist of an administrative building, additional classrooms, a large assembly hall, a commercial kitchen, and a 15, 000 SF open artificially turfed area to be used for ceremonies and outdoor activities. This project requires removal / excavation of a face of a hill involving all rock excavation to accommodate part of the new construction. The excavated area will then be lined to stabilize the new hill face. Middle School Dorm and Fitness Center School Redevelopment involves the demolition of four existing structures and construction of two new Dorm buildings and a new fitness center for the Kapalama Campus. Structures include two 3-level dormitory buildings and a single story fitness center. Structural work involves continuous topping, suspended slabs, concrete and CMU walls. Building finishes include EFS finish and paint at exerior CMU walls, standing seam metal roofing, aluminum storefronts and windows, interior finishes and all associated mechanical and electrical work. Site work includes new utilities to building, structural excavation, concrete curbs, ramps and sidewalks, site retaining walls and landscape and irrigation. Middle School Redevelopment project includes the demolition of nine existing structures and construction a new middle school for the Kapalama campus. Structures include a three-level classroom building, two-level Admin/Cafeteria/Band buidling and a single-level chiller plant. Structural work involves continuous and spread concrete footings, slab-on-grade, Precast planks with concrete topping, suspended slabs, concrete and CMU walls. Buidling finishes includes EFS finish and paint at exterior CMU walls, standing seam metal roofing, aluminum storefronts and windows, interior finishes and all associated mechanical and electrical work. Site work includes new utilities to building, structural excavation, concrete curbs, ramps and sidewalks, site retaining walls and landscape and irrigation.
