| The 91st Avenue Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is located on a 560-acre site east of 91st Avenue, and north of the Salt River in Tolleson, Arizona. The plant is owned by the Sub-regional Operating Group (SROG) consisting of the cities of Glendale, Mesa, Scottsdale, Tempe, and Phoenix, and is operated by the City of Phoenix. The original plant began treating wastewater in 1962, and since then has been upgraded and expanded to the current firm treatment capacity of 204.5 mgd. The Unified Plant 2005 (UP05 Project A) Expansion project is currently under construction, and will allow the facility to transmit effluent water to the Tres Rios Wetlands Project and to the ANPP Transmission line. The project consists of the construction of the Unified Plant Effluent Pump Station with the associated Electrical Building, and Standby Generation System, the additional of one new centrifuge and related piping, odor control, electrical and instrumentation, 96” and 84” Effluent Conveyance Piping, 84” Effluent Forcemain and related Forcemain Box Structures, Valve Vault Structure including tie in to existing pipelines. |
